Welcome back with the Elmwood pattern! Recently released, this is an amazing pattern for your favourite print or two! This quilt features basic elements, using half square triangles (HST) and flying geese to create an on-point look, without being on-point! It is beginner friendly and can be made in two sizes, Baby and Throw.

When I first started designing a couple years ago, this was one of the first concepts that I was playing with, loving the modern look to the quilt. At the time I wasn't interested in on-point quilts, so I started designing one that looked like, but wasn't. I was also fascinated with HSTs and flying geese at the time. After a couple tweaks from my husband, I decided that I liked the layout and went for it.
When I was binding the original cover girl, I happened to be on a trip visiting my great-aunt and she saw the pink quilt and fell in love with it. So, once I was done and took all the photos, I sent it to her through her daughter for Christmas because I knew that she'd appreciate the quilt (which she really did).
I've made some baby versions of Elmwood as well, one of them being a Quilt-As-You-Go (QAYG) quilt. The QAYG method works great because you can do the small sashing method and it just adds a thin 1/2" line in between your blocks that looks like a design element if using the main colour.
